Alexander Technique
KARI PRINDL (1993), Alexander Technique. Kari Prindl grew up around the world before graduating in English at Oberlin College in 1987. At Oberlin, she also took cello lessons at the conservatory and was seriously involved with the theater and dance department. After college, she moved to San Francisco where she danced daily until a major injury forced her to stop. Though the injury created crisis, it also lead her to the discovery of the Alexander Technique. Kari spent three years healing and training at the Alexander Training Institute-SF, receiving her certification in 1992. Since then, she has been teaching the technique to individuals and groups throughout the Bay Area, including the MFA program at the American Conservatory Theatre. Kari loves to work with performers of all ages. The technique teaches the musician how to be deeply present in their body, mind and soul. It shows the performer how to stop physical habits that get in the way of moving freely and it is a great aid in breathing effortlessly and controlling stage fright. Kari is gentle and open and provides lessons tailored to each student in a calm environment.www.alexandertechnique-sf.com
