BILL McCLANAHAN (2000), cornet, trumpet.
Bill McClanahan received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of California Davis and his Master of Arts in Education from Stanford University.
He studied with Joe Alessi and Malcolm McNab.
Bill directs instrumental music programs at three local private schools, and freelances on trumpet and flugelhorn in jazz and classical styles.

DARREN JOHNSTON (2004), cornet, trumpet.
Darren Johnston received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Jazz Performance from the Cincinnatti Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Pat Harbison. He received his Master of Arts in Composition from Mills College. Darren is an active performer in local jazz, new music, improvised music, Latin, swing, hip-hop and blues bands. He has also taught extensively in private studios, clinics and schools.

Toured with Boz Scaggs 2004-2008. Recorded and toured with Rosemary Clooney, 2000-2002. Toured with Glenn Miller Orchestra, lead trumpet and featured soloist, 1992-1993. Founder and member of TRUMPETSUPERGROUP. Faculty, Berkeley City College (History of Jazz). Freelance local trumpeter, jazz and classical.

BECCA BURRINGTON (2003), trombone. BM, Trombone Performance, Oberlin Conservatory; Dean’s Talent Award. Governor’s Scholar, Outstanding Brass Performance award at Interlochen. Teachers: Raymond Premru, Per Brevig, Nicholas Orovich. Active trombonist and singer, played trombone in Silk Road Project, SF Sinfonietta, California Chamber Symphony, Women’s Philharmonic, Dulce Mambo, Montclair Women’s Big Band. Vocal groups: Solstice, Mirabai Ensemble, Pacific Mozart Ensemble.

MIGUEL GOVEA (2006), Mission District Young Musicians Program, trumpet, button accordion, and vocals. Miguel Govea teaches trumpet and diatonic button accordion to English speakers and Spanish speakers of all ages. He also instructs beginners in piano accordion and trombone. He tries to convey a sense of the joy in making music, in continuously learning, and in playing with others. He has helped direct and arrange for the Mission District Young Musicians Program since its inception in 2007. He has co-directed the acclaimed youth band Futuro Picante since 2004. He has arranged for, performed and recorded with his own bands (Los Compas, La Familia Peña-Govea), and various other groups in San Francisco since 1982. Also speaks Spanish. MAX MILLER-LORAN (2011), trumpet. Max Miller-Loran is recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He performed extensively in the New England area in both jazz and hip-hop before moving back to his hometown of San Francisco. He studied with Greg Hopkins, Tiger Okoshi and Hal Crook. He currently performs regularly with Blind Willies, The Getback, George Watsky, Kev Choice and many others. He strongly believes that all musical styles are valid, and teaches with this philosophy in mind.
